PCI-Express(peripheral component interconnect express) is a high-speed serial computer expansion bus standard, its original name is “3GIO”, which was proposed by Intel in 2001 to replace the old PCI, PCI-X and AGP bus standard.

PCIe belongs to high-speed serial point-to-point dual channel high-bandwidth transmission. The connect devise allocate exclusive channel bandwidth but do not share bus bandwidth, it mainly supports active power management, error reporting, end-to-end reliable transmission, hot pluging and quality of service(QOS) and other functions.

The suppliers of PCIe flash memory cards include: INTEL, IBM, LSI, OCZ, Samsung(planning), SanDisk, STEC, SuperTalent and Toshiba(planning),etc. PCIe4.0 is available for 100G and 200G. PCIe5.0 uses up to 400G. And in the future PCIe6.0 will boost it to 800G.
